Zelda went to her first beagle meet up group event.

We didn't take her off leash though because she's never been off leash at a dog park before... and since there was so much excitement going on, we didn't want her to get all riled up. But she still had tons of fun!

Here are some pictures of her kissing the friends she made, and some other random beagles that I got shots of.

There was one point where Zelda was just sitting there watching everyone, so I gave her a cookie... within seconds, I have 4 other beagles jumping on me and when I looked down, I couldn't figure which one was Zelda.

If you haven't looked into these before, the local Meetups are great. We belong to one in Sacramento just for beagles. The woman who organizes it has 2-3 meetups a week at different dog parks throughout the area. We've gone to several and there are always lots of beagles for Bodie to play with. Plus it's a great time to talk with fellow beagle owners.

Great pix! It's always fun to meet other dog lovers and their babies at the park.

One word of caution though -- it's really not recommended to keep your dog on a leash inside of a dog park. Mixing on-leash and off-leash dogs can cause stress in the leashed dogs, which may lead to uncharacteristic aggression on the part of the leashed dog.

there is supposed to be one of those here in toronto this summer according to my vet. i can't wait to take sophie and hopefully tia. i love the part about the cookie, i lol'd

Huntington Beach has a yearly beaglefest, usually in May. I don't know the date for this years beaglefest, but when I hear something I'll let you know.
