Yodel's first weekend has been wet, cold, rainy and drab but I don't think he notices. We are all in love with him! (maybe except Henry but he'll come around). /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

He still makes Henry growl but I think Henry is a bit grumpy because he hasn't been able to go take his suntans outside and relax. Yodel slept in the bed with us last night. Just a couple of accidents /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/congrats.gif...he's one of those that when he goes outside he is too curious and busy to potty. When he pees, you feel like you just won the lottery! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/toofunny.gif Oh, he's a "squatter".

When you talk to him, he listens very intently and looks at you with that sweet little face and you fall in love all over. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winkingsmiley.gif

He was treated for adult heartworms a month ago so he coughs, especially at night. A trip to the vet is in his near future. He still has chewies hidden all over the house, including in a couple of pots that house plants used to be in!

He loves to play with toys and my son is happy to have a dog to play with. (Henry is not interested in that).

Anyway, I asked Jamie to host and post some photos for me...my computer is making it impossible to do so at the moment...too slow. (Now I know why people push their computers off of their desks)! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thsmiley_fistshake.gif

Glad to hear that Yodel is fitting in..and I'm sure Henry will come around, try to encourage a good game of tug of war(old sock with knots)between Yodel and Henry, that has worked many times for me whenever I'd bring in a new member in the pack.
Enjoy!!
I would agree there might be a bit of dacshund in the mix somewhere....but as I tell Calvin all the time (my mixed breed boy with a heart of gold)....

I say, "Cal, they make purebreed dogs by the millions, but there's only ONE of YOU !!!!" Now THAT's something to brag about! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/soapbox.gif

Yodel looks like he settling in to his new home very well! In the last photo, Henry has a look on his face as if to say: "MAMA!!! when is this little dog going home!!" :). Before you know it, they'll be sharing the couch or a bed!
Glad to hear that Yodel is settling right in. He sure has a sweet little face...I just love the picture of him looking out the window!
I'm happy to hear that Yodel is settling in with you. Henry looks so sad in that last picture. Like he's wondering why this dreadful thing keeps following him everywhere.

Yodel is adorable. I hope he knows just how lucky he is to have been adopted by your family! Give him some extra hugs from me and Miss Jersey!
Debannib,
I'm glad someone else is proud of their mutt! Henry is a beagle and something, possibly German shepherd. He looks like a foxhound with shepherd colors. People literally stop in the street to ask me what kind of dog he is and where they can get one!

Henry's mom,
I agree, I get comments all the time on Cal's markings and disposition. I believe mutts tend to inherit all the GOOD qualities of each breed....I know there are many mixed breed beagles on this site, as well as 'honorary' beagles like Calvin. I think ALL would agree, their unique qualities, just like Yodel's, make them EXTRA special.

I'm really enjoying the Yodel stories and pictures Denise......keep 'em comin'!

I'll chime in here since we have mutts, too. Our Traveler is a very handsome fellow, and people remark frequently how good looking he is. We think he's a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. Whatever the mix, he must have gotten the best of both sides. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sleep.gif
