I think we're letting the dogs sleep too much in the evenings, and it's backfired almost every morning this week with a too-early wake-up via face licking.
My boyfriend and I have been busy the last few nights - we had to drive downtown to a UPS hub late in the evening to pick up our new cell phones, we had dinner with another couple another night, and we had company over last night. Consequently, we've spent less time playing with the dogs than normal, or they've been kenneled for a couple of hours and have used that time to sleep.
I've been having a bit of insomnia lately, so it's late when I get to sleep. And then, Spock decides it's time for me to get up, let him out, and feed him, even though my alarm isn't set to go off for a while. The other morning, he was 40 minutes early; I only let him out and put up with him nipping at me, licking me, and sighing heavily until I finally got up and fed him. This morning, he was an hour and 20 minutes early. I went ahead and woke up Bones while I was at it, put them both out, fed them, and went back to bed, whereupon the game of dog/human bed Tetris began anew and I was unable to settle back down and get some sleep.
I will be drowning my sleepiness in copious amounts of coffee again this morning. Ugh. I love my Spock, but I do not love missing out on my much-needed rest.
