Even a single day after giving him a bath, Tobie will smell like corn chips. Does anyone else think their dog has a Frito smell, and if so have you figured out why...and how to eliminate or reduce it? Thanks!

I actually love Chloe's smell after a bath! Not sure if it's corn chips smell....

Jersey sometimes gets the Frito's smell. Usually it's her feet. Amber always smelled like Frito's. I don't mind it though. And I have no idea why it happens.

Yep, Maggie's feet smell like Fritos as well!

I have heard other people say that about their beagles but haven't noticed it with Maggie.

ok, so at least I'm not crazy...beagles can have a frito smell. Any ideas on how to curb the odor? Or is it just something you have to live with?

I don't know about anyojne else, but I LOVE clean doggy smell! It's reassurring somehow. Never thought it smelled like corn chips, though.

Yes, Moose (in particular) and sometimes Popcorn smell like Fritos when they get warm - Booker not so much. I don't know how to stop it because we actually like the smell - one of us will notice that Moosie has gone nutty and the other will rush over to smell him too!

They make deodorant doggie shampoo's. I've got some from Petsmart called Fresh n Clean Oatmeal n Baking soda shampoo. They smell nice after a bath and for a while after. I think that freeto smell comes from their feet.

That's the exact one I use

I love it.
Oatmeal is also very good for their skin.

All my dogs have always had Frito feet! Thier bodies don't smell like Fritos, just the tootsies.

I haven't noticed on Yodel, but Henry B's footsies do smell like corn chips and although not the best smell in the world, it isn't the worse.

I find the smell very endearing because I usually notice it when we cuddle.

It's just one more wonderment of the beagle!

Mine never stay clean long enough to notice. As soon as the bath is complete, both will go outside and roll in something smelly.

Accept the Frito's smell....it could be worse.

Mine have frito feet too, but I haven't noticed it anywhere else on them and don't have a clue why it happens!

Guess it's a good thing I don't mind the smell of corn chips.

Okay, so I thought Fritos? I smelled Cobi's feet yesterday, and I don't know what your frito's smell like, but Cobi's feet smelled more like doggie feet ---- grass. I'll wait until Casie gets here and smell his feet, but fritos? No way! )

i totally think fritos too!! In fact sometimes I LOVE getting a big whiff of it.. its like smelling a baby's head.. its comforting. The smell is mostly on his feet, and gets stronger when its warm.

Unfortunately, my bf says that the fritos smell is a mixture of dirt/grass/pee. I prefer to think yummy doggy goodness but he says pee

I have to dispute the pee claim. Jersey is very careful not to step in her pee. She's quite meticulous about those kinds of things. Even keeps one paw up in the back while going. She doesn't like to get dirty. And she still smells like Fritos. I'm with you, yummy doggy goodness.

So funny you say that, Chloe watches where and how she pees too. I still don't know what frito's smell like, though.
