All 3 dogs I have ever owned have what I call anxiety pee. Shelby the Eskie is 3 and whenever someone pets her she pees all over. As did the dog we owned before her she was a Maltese. Now Lilley the beagle is doing it. Whenever I bend down to pet her or while training her and she get rewarded and excited she pees everywhere. This time on my couch! I went to put her in her crate and the second I said her name and reached out to touch her she started peeing? Any suggestions on how to stop this?

When you reward her, try not being so excited about it. Your excitement is causing there peeing most likely. Try just saying, good boy/girl. And move on. When you come home and when you greet them and they pee, try ignoring the dogs at first when you get home, and just say there names and say hello, but that's about it, dont get all involved in the greet like bending down to their levels and all that sort. This should improve the excitement peeing.
Let me know if this works.

Bones gets excited and pees on very rare occasions. She was pretty bad about it when she was a younger puppy, and it took her a while, but she has calmed down enough so that it doesn't happen as often. But she does it every single time my boyfriend's and my former roommate visits us from out of state. It has gotten to the point where we make sure they meet outside so we don't have to clean up her little accident.
