I'm not sure if this is a beagle thing, but Milo has really long whiskers on his lips and cheeks and eye brows. I don't remember my other dogs having such long and noticable hairs like this. How are yours?

Do you think there would be any harm if I trimmed these hairs with scissors?

Why would you cut his whiskers? For purely cosmetic reasons?

I don't think I'd ever cut them off. It might not hurt your dog but I've read they are like sensors and the dogs do use them.

You shouldn't mess with mother nature, unless there is a good reason for it! MHO

Roscoe and Cole have rather long whiskers and Gino's are average length.

Personally, I would not alter them, whiskers are functional and not just ornamental.

I just noticed JoJo's eyebrow whiskers this morning are lopsided. She's missing her right side whiskers. No clue where they went, but they were there a few days ago!

I would NOT cut them off. There's no reason for it....

thanks for the information, i wasn't fully aware that dogs actually used their whiskers... i was just curious about it, and as it would be purely for cosmetic reasons, i have decided against it.
