Coffee used to whine and bark when we first put him in the cage at night. My wife would actually sleep on the couch next to the cage and he would be fine. Gradually he whined less and less. Now he goes right into his cage at night and then sleeps through the night. Of course he starts whining again around 6:30 in the morning, which doubles as an alarm clock for me!
