Tucker is getting real good about waking up as he's gotten older. He usually waits until I start getting up before he moves out of his bed. That time changes based on the day of the week. Not that he isn't up already, he just doesn't bug me yet for breakfast. When he was younger, he would wake up when my alarm went off and paw at the bed for breakfast. Years ago he jumped on my chest to get me up.
Now Cleo was a different story. She started out getting up at 6AM and demanding breakfast. I could swear she could read the clock as she would wake me up at exactly 6 even if my alarm clock wasn't set. As she got older, she wanted to eat even earlier. The earliest she ever woke us was 4:30. I am not a morning person so that was out of the question. She discovered if she went to the living room and barked, we had to get up in order to get her to shut up, since we were up, breakfast? So we put her in our room and closed the door. That is when she discovered the spring door stop. She would paw at it to make that awful noise until we got up and fed her. She never did bark in our room. At least she gave us that courtesy. As I think about it, I miss those early morning wake up calls. (I nicknamed her my second alarm clock. If it didn't go off, a vet visit was in order)
