Hi there!
Meet our boy Herb - he’s a 5 month old beagle puppy and I swear he’s crossed with something other than beagle.
We are thinking of getting the DNA test but would love opinions!
We don’t mind what he is or if he’s even crossed we are just so curious :)
Cheers,
Soph

Looks like a beagle but kinda big. Can you post a standing picture? What are your doubts? Beagles have different shapes. Some are rounder and some like my beagle who is a purebreed has a slim shape.

Yours sounds gorgeous too! Would love to see a picture!
Yes we are just in love with him - he’s very affectionate and well socialised but still barks for breakfast and dinner which we are managing with our trainer. Springer Spaniel could be a possibility thank you for your advice!

Oh good point and thank you Cassie! We actually asked our trainer about it as when he's eating it's always down and wondered if it was anxiety. She had let us know that because he's a very fast eater and never used to chew, to spread his food over several 'games' and so his tail is down because he is concentrating so hard - so sweet. Beagles are just so smart!

Thanks Cassie! That's helpful. Our vet hasn't mentioned anything but I will be keeping a close eye! We certainly know the scared/anxious tail as he used to be quite frightened of everything when he was a little one and now he's gained a heck of a lot of confidence! Good to know about the bent tail though - fingers crossed everything is a-okay!
