Ok Charlie has these sores on his belly and last week I noticed one but after his bath today I noticed he now has about 7 of them ? They seem to be sore when i touch them he flinches, but he doesn't bother them really ~ they kinda remind me of eczema patches i've seen on humans ? He goes outside alot cuz we are outside alot and he has free run of the acreage... after doing some searching i'm wondering if it's either allergies or hot spots ? what do you think ?? They are approx the size a bit smaller than a dime, some are even smaller than that and they are all on his belly/groin except for one that is on his leg.

Ouch. They look sore. I don't know about hot spots or allergies. Maybe you should take him to the vet and have them look at it.

I would take him to the vet to check it out. Looks like insect bites.... ouch.

I don't know what they are, either, and would say a vet visit is in order.

I would agree that a vet visit is in order. You want to make certain that it is not an infection of some kind (am thinking staph).

That's the first thing that came to my mind too Judy. Amber used to get Staph infections (they were a side effect of her Cushings) and that's what they remind me of. It could be bug bites that got infected, but I would take him to the vet just to be sure.

My Molly had those sores on her and it turned out to be one of the symptoms for hypothyroidism.

Her skin was very flakey among other symptoms.

They did a blood test, put her on medicine and she is like a new beagle.

yeah i was already planning on taking him to the vet i was just checking here first to see if anyone had an idea what it might be before so i had something to go on ....
