I promised myself that I wouldn't say anything until we knew for sure that we are getting him. But I can't keep a secret and I'm sooo excited. You may remember that we've been trying to decide on what breed of dog to get next. Shane wanted a Boxer, and I wanted either another Beagle or a Lab.

When I told Shane about the 8 puppys that were born he immediatley asked where they were. But Iowa is too far he said. So then I started thinking that he is re-thinking another beagle. I started checking the SPCA and other rescues aroung here. No Beagles. Then on another thread here someone (I think it was BookerMoose) mentioned beaglepaws.com They have a 2 year old male in Calgary that we are interested in. We filled out the adoption application and we've been e-mailing info back and forth. Calgary is only a 3 hour drive from here so it's not too far. I hope this all works out.

I'm scared to tell my mom that we're getting another dog. She didn't think it was a good idea for us to get Caesar, but she doesn't like dogs. She's a cat person. And then with Caesar eating the new sofa I know she'll be mad. Even though I'm a grown woman I still fear the wrath of mom.

I'm so excited for you - keep us all posted! I know we3beagles here at BeagleWorld is with BeaglePaws in Calgary - you could even be dealing with someone you already know!

And we know first-hand that all of the dog-friendly places on Vancouver Island I mentioned earlier also accept two dogs - so you're good to go there too!

I just checked out BeaglePaws - is he one of the two two-year-old Snoopy's in Calgary (I bet that is a bit confusing for everyone involved...).

They are both SOOOO cute - how could you pick just one?! Of course three beagles are even better than two...

We were interested in Snoopy#2 but I think he's gone because they asked us what we thought about Baxter. He is flying to Calgary on Friday from NL. There is a foster home for him here.

Baxter is adorable too! His facial colouring is a lot like Moosie's (and, I know I'm biased, but I think Moosie is the handsomest beagle ever...).

oooh, I think Chase is pretty neat too. I can see why you like Snoopy#2. Did they tell you he is taken? It'd be terrible to make the 3 hour drive and he is gone.

We are driving 1 hr 30 minutes with Quadruplets on Saturday /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif to meet Blackjack, then the same amount of time home. It will be WELL worth it tho. I know the kids will be excited.

It's so great that you're planning to rescue a beagle. :thumbup: We drove quite a distance to get Li'l Girl since, at the time, there were no beagles available for adoption in the local shelter. I hope everything turns out well for you.

Congratulations!! I am very happy for you :bounce: :bounce2: We had a hard time deciding what breed to get next and realized that for us there was no question. It had to be another beagle. I am glad you found one close too. Casey came from Devon which was not to bad at all. About 45 min from Sherwood Park. Can't wait for pictures and stories.

Unfortunately the adoption isn't going to happen. Not now at least. We just didn't get a good feeling about it, we were not 100% convinced and that's not good for anyone. So we're going to wait for the right beagle. I like to think that Caesar found us so we'll just wait for the next dog to find us too. I'm a bit disappointed but I've still got my little Caesar. Thanks for all your excitement!

Sorry to hear that but it definitely happens - we lucked out first time around with Moosie but with Popcorn we had two no-go's before we found her... when the vibes are not right they just are not right and it is not meant to be.

But we're keeping our fingers and paws crossed and know that you will find the right addition to your family eventually!

you have made a difficult decision but the right one.....I volunteer (fostering and interviewing applicants) with my local beagle rescue and know how important it is to match the right beagle to the right family !!

just keep looking and the right little beag will find you just like Ceasar did !!!
