WAR!!! (of the fleas)--I'm Winning!

After finding fleas on all three of my beags, I have declared war on the little buggers in my house. Every stitch of their bed linens has been washed in hot water, beds scubbed with bleach, carpets, floors, and furniture vacuumed, all three dogs bathed, floors scubbed with hot water and bleach. Basically if it didn't move, it got scrubbed, washed, or vacuumed. Tomorrow I'm buying some more Frontline to spray them down with. In the meantime, I'm cooking down some lemons to make a citrus spray repellant, and I fed them some Garlic with dinner which is also supposed to repel fleas. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif Whew!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Well, The Frontline spray did the trick, for the dogs at least. As soon as I sprayed them, fleas were jumping ship from all directions. The next time I bathe them I'll try rinsing them with a vinegar solution. The yard will be another matter... half an acre is quite a bit to treat, but it will be worth it. There is a do-it-yourself pest control store in town that I'm going to check out for flea control. One website reccommended placing a bowl full of soapy water underneath a lamp where the dogs sleep to attract fleas in the house... it works!!
