I have some stuff from the vet, Oti-Clens. It comes in a squirt bottle, and you warm it up a little in your hands, squirt some in the dogs ear, way down in the ear canal, and then rub the ear gently. Using a twisted up soft kleenex, like a tube, you'll twirl it around the dogs ear canal to get out the goop or wax that it in there. It works very well, but you do have to let the dogs ear dry completely before letting them out in the cold air.
It's by pfizer Animal Health products.

It is very important to clean beagles ears. There is no air circulation under there so stuff builds up. Once you have a beag with an ear infection, you will know how bad it can get. Our first beag Cleo had a very bad infection when we got her. We had to clean her ears and put in medicine 3 times a day for a week and there was black stuff coming out every time. After that, she received weekly ear cleanings. Another sign of problems is if they shake their head a lot. It can mean their ears are uncomfortable and need cleaning or there is an infection.

You can make your own ear cleaner at home. Its only good to clean out the ears from dead skin, wax build up.
Its just 50% acetic acid (white vinegar)
and 50% of distilled water. ....
Couple of drops to clean the ear, I find works really well. Most vets dont like you making your own, but one really helpful vet said it was fine. But like us, only do it when its needed~
