Hi, all! I have no pictures of today's bath because ... (insert pat on back) I did it all by myself!! Maggie's bather is on vacation and I didn't want to skip a week as her back is all scabby. Maggie was a perfect angel -- I know, unusual description for a beagle but she really was good. Sat still during waiting periods, stood up so I could rinse her bum, etc. She is snoozing away right now -- getting bathed is exhausting for everyone! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif At last week's vet visit, we did add Benedryl twice a day to her regimen as the baths are not doing as much as we hoped. Great news is that her blood pressure is down to "high normal" (151/91). Renal tests still show kidney problems which is probably irreversible due to Cushings. Vet will consult with internal med specialist tomorrow. Maggie has continued to feel good, wanting to play when I get home from work. Her appetite is all over the place so I just keep trying things until I hit on something that she feels like eating at that moment. Have discovered she loves extra sharp cheddar cheese!

We just came back from a short walk and Rio decided to "perfume" herself with another dog's...uh hem...scent? Needless to say she didn't smell like roses so it was into the tub for her. Boy does she hate taking a bath. It didn't take but four seconds before she started whimpering and trying to escape. Her only consolation is that she gets to beat up the towel as I dry her (and gets a nice treat as well).

I give credit to the groomers of the animal world. They must put up with some very unruly critters.

Good for both you and Maggie! You get kudos for being such a good beagle mommy and Maggie gets kudos for being such a good beagle girl. It's good to read that she's feeling good.

I thought mine were the only dogs in the world who were picky eaters.

As sick as Olivia is, it is still a mystery as to what she will feel like eating once her appetite enhancer takes effect. Whatever she eats one night might not interest her the next. And it also seems that once an item has been refridgerated, the interest wanes.

Beechnut baby food meats is usually a safe bet. Not proper for a renal diet but at this stage, whatever works.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Way to go Maggie and Judy! I'm very happy to hear that Maggie is doing well. I love that Maggie is such a good girl for her baths. Jersey has to be tied down in the tub to keep her from jumping out when she's in the tub.
