I guess he'll be going back to his breeder.
When we were looking for our second beagle I inquired at a local breeder. They had a litter that would be ready in a few weeks, but they also had a young male that needed one more win to earn his championship status. The dog was "available" and he wasn't cheap. He included a huge contract reserving all kinds of rights to the breeder. Including continuing to show him, stud service, (They buyer could not neuter the dog)etc.
I'm not sure how it all works, but it looked to me like you house and care for "their" dog. No doubt, under strict guide lines.

No thanks.
I'll stick with my long-tailed, bum-kneed Sadie, and Sparky the Lord-knows hound. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I heard a news report this morning that said Uno will mostly be just a pet from now on. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup2.gif It did say that he has a lot of personal appearances to fulfill, and he has an open invitation to visit the White House. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/help.gif

Quote: I know a lot of people who bought dogs under such conditions, we call it "shared ownership".
I assumed it was a standard thing to do with show dogs.

"Joint custody"...
"Visitation rights"...
"Every other weekend and holidays"...
Enough of all that in the world already.
No thanks. (But he was a beautiful animal.)
