Marbles is 10.5 months old.

When do we change his food over? He is very heavy now, and he always wants more food...even goes to Snoopy's food when he doesnt finish and wants to eat more???

yes, lots of treats given b/c he chews EVERYTHING...this will be another topic.

We just changed Duke's food about a month ago and he turned 1 yesterday. But, he has a small frame and is slim. His trainer said basically, larger dogs can be switched around 9 months, but it's ok to leave a smaller frame dog on puppy food until 1 year.

LOL!! My beagle books say that most beagles will eat until they throw up and then eat more. Don't let them fool you, though, they don't need more! In your avatar, he doesn't look overweight or anything. I think I changed Toby over to adult food a little before he was 1. Our upcoming addition is 1 and already on adult food.

I am a stickler for keeping Toby at a healthy weight, no matter how much he begs!!!!

Considering that Henry is overweight...I can't say anything on this subject. But...I do know better and will try not repeat the mistake with Yodel.

Judging by what has been said, you can probably switch him over now. I read somewhere that you're supposed to do it gradually to prevent diarrhea.

Good luck!

I would go ahead and switch him if he is on the heavy side. Puppy food has more calories. I switched Phoebe around 10 mos. She will try to eat Teddy's food(he is a nibbler), so I have to watch her closely and put his food up where she can't get to it.
