Hello all,

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I have a question about potty training.

Ok ... if Einstein has an accident and I catch it, it is always during or after the fact, I always say NO and take him to the wee-wee pad.

1) Do I keep him on the pad, which seems pointless because he already did his business.

or

2)Do I keep taking him to the wee-wee pad to show him the place and let him rome.

or

3) take him to his crate

from
rookie crate trainer

thanks

when i caught the pup i'd yell no, and put him outside immediately. if your strictly doing pee pads, i'd do the same thing i'd yell no and put him on the pad to finish, only if you catch him in the act. there's no point in yelling if u just found a puddle. he wont get it.

Thanks Sephly ...

I am thinking about putting him outside when he has an accident but i am currently using wee-wee pads. I'm thinking about taking him out to do his business so that he understands the difference between inside and out, I'm not to sure about the pad, i'm thinking outside and inside is a better distinction for a dog

well the way i potty trained, was when i cought him i'd say NO and put him outside by himself, if when we went outside together he peed he got lots of hugs kisses and a treat. puppies HATE to be alone so if you make them understand that peeing inside gets alone time outside they realize they dont want to be alone outside and will go outside when you want them to go. just get a good schedule going and he'll get the hang of it. remember usually the formula is #months=#hours they can hold it. generally speaking its a good formula to go by.
