Too Quiet Beagle

Our Sadie is almost 16 months old. She is still very quiet.
We can coax a little “Buff!” out of her if she thinks there’s someone at the door.
If she gets really excited, maybe a single, honest bark.
The most I’ve ever heard from her was when she was running full speed, playing with the neighbor’s Boarder Collie. It was an occasional, high pitched “yip” that almost sounded ( If I didn’t know better.) like she was in pain. Oh, and she’ll growl if you play tug-a-war with her.
My wife thinks I’m crazy, but we spent a little time at Beagle Palooza, and I kinda liked all of the Arrrooooing. I wish Sadie would express herself that way. (Once in a while.)
“Be happy she doesn’t!” I’m told. :nono5:

Snoopy is a rescue that we have had for a year and I swear if it wasnt for the fact that he had such horrible seperation anxiety and was wimpering in the crate when he got him, I would not know he is a beagle by voice.

I have only heard a bay 1 time, while he got free from me and chased a rabbit.

It was so many months now since we heard a noise, that I almost questioned whether his vocal cords were cut by prior owners (then I remember that he was vocal when we first got him)

I appreciate the quiet, or we would be kicked out of our 1BR high rise in Chicago!!
