[Toby & Lucky]

Toby turned 8 this past week (on the 22nd). His b-day present was a week at the doggie spa - well, that's what we told him!! We have been out of town. I hated missing his b-day, but he got a little make-up birthday steak once we got home! He was so happy to see us and come home!

Lucky, on the other hand, has totally regressed on his house training. He hasn't peed in the house in a long time and in the 24 hours since I brought them home he has peed three times and pooped twice in the house. ARGH! I have to start all over with him everytime he goes to the kennel. It's driving me crazy!

We have missed getting our BW fill and are glad to be back!

It does sound as though Lucky really does not like being kenneled. Maybe he still just doesn't realize that you'll always come back for him.

Sorry to hear about Lucky regressing. It does sound like he doesn't like it when he's left at the kennel. I agree with Sandy, he's probably still unsure about whether or not you'll return for him.

I am beginning to think that if Lucky had been my first beagle, he might have been my only beagle!! That or I have just forgotten if Toby really was this difficult. Lucky really is stubborn and is not nearly as good with the crate as Toby has always been. I think Toby being good with the crate (he loved it, would go in on his own when the gate was open) made his bad habits so much easier to overcome. Lucky hates the crate and that makes everything else harder. Unfortunately, I can't trust him out and about at certain times of the day, so I HAVE to use the crate. When he is miserable in the crate, he makes sure we are miserable too by making us listen to him!! If you can't tell we are having a particularly bad night!!! LOL!!

Toby is enjoying the beginning of his 8th year lounging on my bed!!! Since we have most of the house gated off (due to Lucky and our 21 month old son) that is quite the treat for him!!
