During our first breaktime @ work yesterday I was talking about
my dogs & how I spoil them, (like this past sunday) with "Shadows
owner" when an elder gal from a different department overheard
me. She politely stated that "when I die, I want to come back as
your dog"! Yep, Goober the pampered pooch is very popular at work
since that safety-poster of him in "command" of Rufus, Nibbler &
a young Homer in 2002 on our boat! (The caption to the poster
reads..."I work safe so I can take the boys fishing")! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup2.gif

Yep, Goober is now over 16 yrs old & active despite his age! He
has earned the title of my eldest "timex-beag"! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/gaah.gif He is not
the eldest one "on my block", as our vet has one that is 17, as
a patient...but Goober is "one tough beag" for his age as he
refuses to use "doggie-steps" to jump on my bed ! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup2.gif

I've had people say the same thing to me many times - and that was BEFORE beagles! It is an ultimate compliment!

You are right, that is a great compliment. I have a bumper sticker that says the same thing, almost, "When I die, I want to come back as my dog".
You must be doing something right!
