My husband and I decided that instead of crating Daisy today while we are at work (since we haven't had time to properly introduce her to it) we would put her in the bathroom with papers down. She was paper trained at her breeder, so we thought this would be a better alternative until we can get her used to the crate the proper way. I just didn't want to force her in the crate and then have her hate it from here on out.
So, I left first and my husband took care of putting her, the papers, food, toys, etc in the bathroom. He closed the door and left.
Fast forward to me coming home. We also have a 2 year old Chocolate Point Siamese cat named Sophia. She is able to open doors and guess what? Sophia let Daisy out. So when I get home the bathroom door is open and here comes Daisy trotting out from the office upstairs. She was still good and went to the paper to do most of her business. Only one real accident. It's funny now, but I was a bit horrified seeing that open door.
Lesson for today: Never underestimate the power of a cat and dog working together.
