Congratulations!!!! I was thinking about you a few days ago.. wondering where you've gone. Looking forward to see the pooch you're getting... rescue or breeder, I'm sure you are well prepared by now!

I'm glad to hear that you should be able to get your Beagle soon! I would definitely try to see if one of the rescues can work with you on getting a Beagle. They may be able to meet you with a few dogs that you're interested in so you can choose. I picked Jersey out sight unseen. Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue had a momma' Beagle with a litter of pups. I just told them I wanted the only lemon and white female in the litter.

"Safety net"? Good thinking.
But my two have proven that when an emergency arises, nothing beats a credit card just for that purpose. We just pull out the card and figure it out later, after the emergency has passed.

She might be perfect for you, but there will be other Beagles that would be perfect for you. I know that deep down you would be happier if she found a good forever home soon.... even if it's not with you.

update... just looked at the website. Carrie, she has been adopted. There are tons of gorgeous Beagles there, too. I just can't understand people...

Carrie, I think that it's great you do this volunteer work. It does so much good to the dogs, and I'm sure to you too.
The 2 day delay is not that bad, I'm sure that since you wait until the 26th, 2 more days will be a walk in the park. Maybe you can go and pick out your dog on that designated A-day, and when you get the check, pick it up (I'm not sure if that will be possible, but worth a try).
