been here for a while and only just noticed how some people have little paw prints under their name? what do those mean? Also is there a chart that show the progressive names from pup , old howler etc. etc.? just curious.

Those are ratings, you can rate other users, as they can rate you.

Look in the FAQ section for the title descriptions. It is near the top, 7th one to be exact. It looks like your next one would be Big Dog at 1,000 posts. I have a few to go to get to Big Barker.

I have also seen members with 3, 4, etc paws instead of 5. Can you increase them if you have any between 1-4?

You can't increase your own yourself, only other members rating you can make them increase.

Oh, yeah, that's what I meant. Okay, just wanted to make sure because I thought I tried on someone but I noticed that it didn't increase...maybe I didn't notice since I might have not be wearing my glassses

There is a one hour delay on some things and the rating system is on that delay. Those functions update every hour.
