This morning I had to rush Summer to Emergency Hospital. I was playing with Kali before work as usual, when Summer walked into the bedroom. This is odd, because she usually looks out the big window and barks. I could see something was wrong, tail down, head down, slow walking... I picked her up and she cried. She was shaking, panting, and rigid. I gave her a quick check and she only reacted when I checked her neck. I got dressed and rushed her to the hospital, leaving Kali at home. The vet checked her over and could not find anything (damn stoic beagles). So I started showing the vet how I check her and when I lifted her head, she cried again. Now she has been admitted for a consult with the specialist that did surgery on her back. I am currently waiting on a call back.

Keep Summer in your thoughts.

Re: Summer in the Hospital

Oh, poor Summer! Hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow with no bumps or glitches for Miss Summer. I know you have no plans for it, but you could write a book about beagle backs and necks. You are now our official go to guy for any info on the top half of beagle dogs. You and Frannie stay calm, we are all sending the very best vibes and prayers you way.
