Chantel, how is Shadie doing after her spay? None of my girls have had any problems, and were up and about the next day. They usually sleep most of the first day, but after that it's hard to keep them quiet. I do have to watch their weight - but then they're beagles. If I'm not mistaken, Shadie is NOT a beagle, and is a shepherd. Beagles are notorious chow hounds.

I always laugh at the vets when they tell me to keep him/her quiet for a week after a spay/neuter. I've had boys that were ready to chase the world as soon as they woke up after a neuter - the girls usually are a little more sensible - it's a more invasive surgery and they're out longer, so they usually sleep all that day and sometimes a good portion of the next, but they bounce back quickly.
