I used to walk (well, it was more of a run), Ally from 9-10 pm every day, even in the dark in winter. Following on what Cassie said, I also fed her twice a day, same total amount once after mirning potty and once about 6 pm. She got a treat at what was my lunchtime. And it’s true it could be night critters that she hears. I also crated Ally at night. She didn’t sleep with us ( learned not to do that from my previous dog who woke me several times at night because she seemed to only sleep a few hours, wake up, find a better spot and that was waking me). So with my beagle, we crate trained her for sleeping and she would put herself to bed. The crate was in a different room and I shut the crate door as she also stirred a lot at night, but it didn’t wake me. Occasionally she’d make a fuss, and I started going in to tell her no. You can guess what happened, she’d fuss just to get attention. After 5 seemingly long nights ignoring her fussing, she never did it again. Maybe I was just lucky!
