Okay, I have a new question: Jennifer's remark about leaving her dogs outside a store with her hubby got me wondering--do you take your dogs shopping with you? I mean to places besides a pet food store? Obviously not to a grocery store (though I'm sure out beags would love that! :D) but if you're making a short trip, to say a hardware store or the cleaners (ok, maybe you men don't make short trips to the hardware store
)or something like that, do you take your babe with you? Since Shiloh has become such a velcro dog and wants to go with me everytime I head to the car, I've begun trying to think of places I can take her with me. Last week I took her to the cleaners, who didn't seem to mind at all, in fact he made a point of greeting and petting her. Yesterday I went with hubby to AAA to renew his driver's license, and we brought Shiloh along. But since I didn't know how long the wait would be, I didn't take her inside and we just walked around outside. (Which turned out to be a good decision since she had her afternoon poop during our stroll!
) So I just wondered if your beags (and siblings) go anywhere besides to buy pet food?

We haven't been able to bring Zelda inside anywhere other than a pet store. There is this one convenient store that she is allowed to go in (it's attached to her boyfriend's house, and they always give him pepperettes there, so they don't mind her coming in too)... she even fell asleep in the middle of the store when we first got her haha

Other than that, if it's a quick in and out, my bf will pop in and I will stand outside with her, which she doesn't mind since she gets tons of attention (people even take pictures of her).

With 9 beagles, mine don't get to go very many places other than the vet's office. Chloe goes with me more than anyone else, like for trips to Grange to get dog food, or to the grocery store (she's not allowed inside, of course), but I don't really take them many places. Years ago my mom had a go-go dog - a little poodle that felt if anyone was going anyplace he should go - and go he did! The only time we left him at home was if it was warm weather. He liked to go shopping - and didn't care how LONG we were at the mall, as long as he got to go. In the winter he had a nice pillow and blankie to curl up on and as long as he was in the car he was HAPPY. He was so funny - if she was holding him to carry him to the car, but I had the car keys, he wouldn't even LOOK at her. I guess hope springs eternal for beagles, because they ALWAYS think I'm going to take them someplace.
I would never leave any of my dogs outside a store unattended.

We have a new pet friendly outdoor mall here. It's called Coconut Point. Most of the restaurants have outdoor seating and you can bring your dog. They are very welcome. Most of the resturants have dog bowls for water they bring out to the dogs. I love it. Pet Smart is in there too, so when we have to get food, the girls ride along.
Monday, we had a vet check-up and the girls and I walked into the hardware store after our appointment and no one said a word. (the store was in the same plaza as the vet office.)

I take mine to the bank too, the drive thru. They know the teller has to see them to get a cookie, so they hop up and down until she does. They will also jump in the back seat to get her attention then I have to put the back window down. It's too cute.

Every once in a while, I give the bank a box of treats so that other dogs get them too.

The Bagel goes to races, outdoor meetings, other events where he won't be bored but other than drive thru windows he doesn't go shopping much except on longer trips where I need to replenish supplies. He does like his weekly trip for a double cheeseburger 'hold-the-bun' at McDonalds. They allmost always remark what a cute puppy, when I somethimes believe they he is older than some of the workers!

Only to the pet store with mine. I usually shop by myself since it's faster that way and they aren't allowed in any of the regular stores.

Charlie comes to school with me, and a lot of places where I can just pop in and out. He loves to stick his nose out and get some good different smells from what he normally smells out in the backyard. He seems content to just be in the car, the sniffing is what he likes the best!

PetsMart and Petco for Tucker. Occasionally the drive through at the bank (treats). He has been offered a job at Petco because he keeps the floors clean and free of spilled kibble. He even gets the stuff under the shelves and in the cat food isles. It is amazing the way he can flatten out his body to fit under the shelves.

I would love to be able to take Jersey shopping with me. The pet shops are the only places I take her in with me. She'll go to the bank drive through with me. If Mike and I are together and have Jersey with us, one of us might run into the store while the other stays with her in the car. Oh, and Mike takes her to Blockbuster with him.

We take Winston wherever we can, but only pet stores around here will let him inside. I'd never leave him outside unattended so if two or more of us go somewhere and it's not too long of a trip, he'll come along.
My son likes to take him to Li'l Ollies Ice Cream Shack in the park. Apparantly Winston is a chick magnet

Ours go with us in the car most of the time. One cant take them into shops but when its cool enough they stay in the car outside. When warm one of us stays with them! A holiday without them doesnt come into question, so really they are hardly ever on their own.
