I don't know if I should be concerned or not...

Ever since he arrived here last Thursday he has had loose stools (I saw them described somewhere as pudding stools - loose, but will pile up) and this afternoon they have changed and his last bm was diarrhea. He also didn't eat his supper. He is drinking though.

So I have these freeze dried liver treats, made only with liver, and over the last couple of days we have used them for working on his come and to encourage a positive crate experience.

I am wondering if maybe they are causing his upset tummy? Not long after his last treat he threw up a little...and later on he brought up some bile.

When he's been awake he has been totally normal...playing and being goofy like he has been all week.

I have been researching roundworms because he definately has them...got dewormed on Saturday and is going again on the 15th...and I read they will cause the loose stools, even vomiting. And I read the stress of leaving his littermates can cause it too.

Ack! I think I have over researched and found too many worst case scenarios!

Reassurance please....

When Murphy was younger (less than 4 months) I noticed a big difference in his stools when I changed food. I also noticed that there was a difference when we gave him a specific type of chicken treat.

When we changed to Nutro puppy food from Purina his stools firmed up. We now give him the chicken treats without a problem so I think he outgrew that one.

My past dog Su's tummy got what you described from anything liver, it was too rich for her, all dogs are different, perhaps this may be the problem, if there is nothing else medically wrong.

Update!

He ate his breakfast this morning, and drank, and was his usual silly self. His puppy papa (our friend who owns his parents) is here in town for work and was with Rocky all day and said his stools are firming up to what they were before.

JoJo had roundworms a few weeks ago...actually, I need to call to confirm her check-up appt.
Her stools firmed up pretty quickly once they gave her the de-wormer.

I'm glad he's getting better!

It was probably the roundworm medication, new home, being away from his litter that might have cause him stress anf given him an set-up stomach. I have to hear that Rocky is doing better and being a puppy now!
