I am a vet tech at an emergency clinic in Charleston, SC. We had a tri-colored, neutered male brought into our clinic by a police officer who found him because he was in such bad shape. He was suffering from SEVERE ear and skin infections. Most of his hair was missing. Luckliy, we had the local veterinary dermatoigist take a look at him and he is almost good as new. He is heartworm negative hand we have started him in Heartgard but he needs to be re-tested in 6 months. He is a very sweet boy and we were amazed at how much of his personality blossomed when his skin started to feel better. His only negative is that he sufferes from some food aggression. As long as you leave him alone while he is eating, he is fine. We have no problems picking up his empty bowl or putting down the full one or [rpblems with toys.

Through my research, I have discovered that there is not a beagle rescue in SC. I e-mailed the one in NC a few weeks ago but have never had a reply. We usually send strays to the local animal shelter after they come in but I convinced my bosses to let us keep him there and get him better or he would be euthanized at the shelter upon arrival.

Does anyone know a rescue that can take him?

Thanks!

Thanks! I will drop a line to both of those that you mentioned. I actually have someone coming to take a look at him tonight. Let's hope this guy gets a forever home that he deserves!!!
