When Timber is in her room, and we cant b with her all the time, would it be a good idea to leave a radio on, with someone talking in her room. Would this comfort her? Can anyone help from experience?

I leave the TV on for Chloe... don't know if it comforts her, but it makes me feel better.

I leave the radio on classical music when I'm gone. Not sure if it helps Oreo but many shelters also play classical music at the end of the day to help calm the dogs down.

We usually leave either the radio (classical or 80s channel) or the tv (Animal Planet or the Food Network) on when we are out. I have absolutely no idea if the hounds like it or would prefer silence... but I like to think they do.

I left the TV on once for Molly when I went to go take a shower and I turned her crate around so she could see it. I came out of the shower to find her watching Law and Order in rapt attention, so it might be a good idea to have something on.

Yes, it can work. If we think about it we leave the radio on for our two. I think it soothes them. We dont leave them much though

I leave a radio on for Fin during the day when I'm working. I leave on sports talk radio for him. Like Chloe's Mommy said, I have no idea if it work but it makes me feel better. I think the sound of talking would soothe them, but for all I know he could be thinking I wish that person would shut up.

We leave the radio or TV on for Tucker when we leave. You can find lots of CD's with music for dogs on the internet.

Back before Jersey's separation anxiety got too serious and I could leave her alone I used to leave the radio on for her. I would set up a video camera to see how she was doing when I wasn't home. Whenever a U2 song came on, Jersey would calm down...can dogs take after their human moms?

I think it helps. When Sadie and Pooh were little I used to leave the TV on The Cartoon Channel for them. Now, we still leave it on for them.

People think we are nuts, but we leave the TV on too...always have for both of our boys. They particularly like the court tv shows, Regis and Kelly, the View, and weather report. It think it's just the noise so that they know that someone is there...or at least they aren't alone. Give it a try...just choose wisely, they are spark pups that may pick up some bad habits if watching the wrong shows...parental control )

I leave a radio on for my two - in hopes of covering up outside noise so they don't go nuts - but I think its also probably partly for my benefit.
