Well I went into my first Petsmart this weekend. (The closest one to me is about 1/2 hour away) My husband and I went to New London, Ct this weekend and there was one located right next to our hotel. I was impressed! They had a nice grooming area, and the pet training area was large.

The closest pet place I have to me is Petco and Petsmart really was nicer.

Murph's Dad I got the sporn no pull harness for Jasmine and I tried it yesterday. She didn't pull or reverse sneeze once. I was thrilled walking her... :happyhappy:

Wow, that's great to hear. I know around here, I wouldn't suggest Petsmart. I have had issues since receiving training there and have spent the last 2 years trying to fix their mistakes.

As for the store itself, they do have a lot of selection, I just wisht hat they would carry some good quality dog food.

I love their fish section though, they have so much selection.

I like Petsmart for the variety. The prices are NOT good.

And they really do treat my Girls like Princesses!

I'm with Tammy. Petsmart does have a fairly good variety, and I like to take Shiloh there cause they're nice and big. And they do have the cats from the Humane Society to try to place. But their prices are generally higher than the Pet Supply Plus where I usually buy my food. I like both of them, though, better than our local Petco, which the last time I was there seemed to be going downhill a bit.

My big plans last Friday night were....taking Caesar to PetSmart! I got his nails clipped and he needed new "outside" toys. So we wandered around and he sniffed everything and picked out his new rubber chicken and ball. And they treat him like the spoiled little puppy that he his. But I don't buy his food there. They don't sell his Innova there but when he was on Iams I would buy it at the grocery store because it was cheaper there.

All we have close by (for a chain store) is either Choice Pet (really expensive) or Petco. Pet Supply Plus is about 20 minutes away, so we don't go there often. Petco I wouldn't even bring my dog into as it looks dirty!! I keep checking the fish tanks and count how many dead fish are in there. So we usually only use it for toys, fish tank filters, maybe a leash, but we buy our food from a feed store. The girl who runs the feed store will special order anything and her prices are comparable with the internet.
This Petsmart we went into was so clean and there fish tanks were really clean and not over crowded.

Genie, I did see the kitties and of course my husband dragged me away. (we just adopted a 2 year old cat)

Kelly, the brand name is a Sporn no pull harness.
If you go on the Petsmart website under harnesses it is there... Really works well!!!

Lucky loves Petsmart. He gets his training there and all the people who work there are so wonderful to him. I do agree the prices tend to be on the high side, but they had certain toys Lucky loves that no one else sells. But if I do buy his food there, I wait until it is on sell because then it is cheaper.

Our PetSmart is very nice. Jersey loves to go there. I don't buy too much there, but will go there on occasion for things like Simple Solution or her flavored Nylabones. We have another specialty pet shop here called Dog Lovers. That's where we normally shop.

Wow. Maybe Petco should use some of its advertising budget to clean up their stores, at least in Connecticut! That would be better advertising, anyway!

A couple of weeks ago, I gave up going to a concert of a DEAR ARTIST to take the girls to Petsmart to get them harnesses. I felt that the humane society was going to swoop in prior to us buying those harnesses cause with the Beagle noses the Girls sure didn't want to go in the direction we needed them too....and needless to say, there was some Beagle pulling going on that night!
