I don't have first hand experience with it but the hubby and I watched a consumer-reports type show featuring PediPaws. They used it on 3 dogs and I think 2 cats. It was quite entertaining to watch but it looked so terribly difficult to use b/c most of the animals wanted no part of it.

I think the product itself is good, it does what says it will but it all depends on how your pet responds to it. Watching that show and seeing real people trying to use it on their dogs and cats, dissuaded us from buying it.

My advice: Don't buy it. I fell for that commercial. Neither my cat or beagle stands for it very well. They barely tolerate it, and it's too slow to be of any use. Hailey will absolutely do anything to get loose and make a run for it. The cost on the commercial seems low, until they nail you with the S&H.

Anyhow, on my breeder's advice, I picked up a new variable speed cordless LION Dremel on the weekend. It works a lot better, the beagle doesn't seem to mind it at all (less vibration) and actually sits still for it. Make sure its on setting 2 or 4.

My groomer has one, and will use it if asked to by the owner. But she found that the noise from the machine usually scares the animals more than the actual procedure. She doesn't use it much.
Casie's breeder uses it on all her dogs that she shows and has no trouble, I think they have to get used to it...but that takes perserverance on your part.

Well Turns out I never purchased one.

BUT

Our son did, lol he fell for it and gave it to us, I said what the hey I'll try it, seeing it had sound and good vibrations, I knew I would have to let Charlie watch me open package, smell it, turn it on, then let him see it's ok.

On the sofa He went, Mum said it's ok Charlie stroking Him with confort before hand, talking to him during the time I'm trying it out, I did only 3 nails and not for long just letting him get used to it, sorta touch testing haha and not overwhelming him, He did good, did not mind it at all, more like, ho-hum how long is this going to take? I assured him not long lol, then with a good boy he got a treat.

To be honest, My nail file works just as good, heck maybe even better, as Charlie lays there patiently and allows me to do such.
