We finally learned how to set up our sewing machine after my mom came up to visit this past weekend. So we decided to try and make our own pet bed (cause we really don't have enough
). We started with two different materials and cut them to the approximate size of one of our larger pillows.

We used one of the inner pillows from one of our existing pet beds until we get around to making an inner pillow to put inside this cover. Here are some pictures of the 3 sides sewn up and the inner pillow in the cover.

At first we wanted to use a zipper to close the 4th remaining side but we couldn't find anything we liked at Wal-Mart, but we did find some buttons that Erin thought were cute so we got those. However, the buttons were too big for our machine and whenever we tried to make the buttons holes just to make sure it wouldn't work, the machine would jam something awful so we gave up on it. I went to a craft store yesterday on my lunch break and found some snaps with the tool to make them work and figured that would be the best solution (cause I knew it would be really easy to do
). So here are the pictures of the snaps installed on our cover.

I think the doggies like their new pillow (especially Rocky)

Daisy did manage to help us stuff the inner pillows up a little more

Sorry for all of the links instead of pictures but the site moves sooooooo slow with Cox that I didn't have the time to sit and upload pictures...hope you all enjoy the pictures

That is great! I love the picture of Daisy in the box of stuffing. LOL! I have a piece of memory foam that I got as a sample one time. I've been wanting to make it into a dog bed for Jersey. I may have to use you and Erin as inspiration.

awwwwww I want to hug those dogs!!!! so cute. Great pillow!! that looks very well done and the dogs do not seem to have any complaints.

If you want to take on another dog bed project, try something like this:
