I got the Sister Twins at the same time and could not image not having 2. They are pack animals and keep each other company while hubby and I are gone during the day plus they are typical sisters and while they don't always *like* each other, they depend on each other to get through the day....or night.

I also have "twins". One of mine is a Lemon and the other is a tri-color, but from the same litter. If you feel you can handle two, then go for it. Just remember twice the chewing up of things, twice the potty training or training in general, twice the vet bills, but twice as much love....

We have two as well. A 12 year old male and a 5 year old female. They get along well and keep each other company while we are at work.

Keep in mind, double the beagles, double the costs. If you can handle it financially, physically, and mentally, go for it.

Believe me, my two have tested each of those categories to the fullest.

In our experience...(Pop & Moi), beags make a better "pair" when one is much older than the second/"new one"! The younger one will not only be learning how to act by you, but the elder one as well if "not more so"! We can't dispute the success we have had with Rufus being paired with then elder Duke, & then elder Rufus being paired with Nibbler! Young Homer being paired with elder Goober has been a great success as well! And even though elder Duke & a young Goober in late 1992 were only temporarily paired when my parents moved here & stayed in my home for about 2 months before their home closed escrow, Duke & Goober were "inseperable"! With the later addition of Rufus, They were known as "the 3 amigos"! But Homer the "non-beag" is a wild-card...since he grew into adulthood he wants to kill Nibbler...(Soo no more pic's of all 4 of them in the boat)!

Hmmmm.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif although I'm a little biased..... NEVER DREAMED I would ever own three dogs at the same time, but now I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Yes, 2 Beagles are better than 1!! We got our first doggie when we were first married and that was Sam the Beagle. He lived to be 14 and we adored him. Anyway, every few years we thought about getting another dog for him and us. But we never did. Sam was very happy and had a full life but we always wished we had got him a partner/friend. When Sam passed away we were of course extremely sad. After some time we got 2 Beagle puppies at once. Sadie and Pooh Bear. They are not related. Pooh Bear is like 1 day older than Sadie. It was a bit rough at first with 2 puppies, but over all it has been great. They are best friends and do everything together. When we go to work they have each other for company. I am all for 2 or more Beagles!!

If you have the room, time, patience and money for a second doggie, I would go for it!!!

Yes to two beags, if you can handle the expense etc! Teddy is 4 and we got him as a rescue 3 years ago after our beloved Callie and Razzle beags went to the Rainbow Bridge. I had my year old lab, Jazzy, when I got Ted, and they adore each other. We added Phoebe( who is now 9mos), and I gotta say, as much as Teddy adores my lab, he even plays differently, or more beagly with Phoebe! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
