Her one nail is bright red. Like it's painted, and she won't let anyone touch it.
And no, we have not trimmed them in weeks, so it's not that....
do you think it's just an injury?

I found out what is wrong. Her nail got peeled off, somehow. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif It somehow happened outside, per my husband. He heard her yip, but that was it.

It's the bone that is exposed. The vet said as long as she isn't licking it TOO much, and her foot doesn't swell up, she will be fine. It will grow back.
Poor baby /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif We are giving her lots of kisses and belly rubs. She really isn't favoring it too much. such a good baby...

We had to take Georgia to the vet--her paw is swollen and infected, so she is on antibiotics for the week. She is now limping horribly, and whines to go for walks, but she can't go. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
I wish we knew how it happened, in case there was a way we could prevent it from happening again...
