/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/help.gif to BW! This is a great place to learn all about beagles from folks who have first-hand knowledge. It is great that you are willing to educate yourself about the breed before you get your new family member. You can spend some time reading past topics in the "discussion" section or just feel free to post your questions. Tell us a bit about yourself -- curious whether you are leaning towards a pup from a breeder or adoption.
I would like to get a male since we already have a female Boxer. We are trying to hold off until after our summer trip. I doubt boarding a puppy you are trying to house train is a good idea, not to mention exposure to no telling what.
We are looking at breeders and adoption. I am in Baton Rouge and there is a hound rescue group not too far from here.
Howdy = Welcome to Beagle World. The more you prepare, the easier bringing a beagle into the family will be. I'm firm believer in adoption. A rescue may appear to have lost their puppy enthusiasm and youthful expectations but a little time and love will bring it back. There is nothing like the reward of seeing a dog shed their rescue baggage and enjoy life to the fullest. I wish you luck on your search and commend you for doing diligent preparation.
