New Recall

I may be the last person to have read about this, but just in case someone buys this food, I thought I'd pass it along:
Yesterday (Apr. 16) the makers of Natural Balance recalled their Venison and Brown Rice Dry Dog Food, and their Venison and Green Pea Dry Cat Food. There have been reports of vomiting and kidney problems. Here's the link:

I have been feeding the sweet potato variety of this food. Itchmo just posted that the rice gluten has the same chemical as was found in the wheat gluten. The rice gluten came from an American company. If you want to get fast and accurate updates on pet food recalls go to www.itchmo.com and sign up for their e-mail alert list. According to the woman I talked to at Natural Balance the rice gluten is a new addition to the product and is only in the bags that have been on the shelves for the last week.

OMG! Rice Gluten is now affected? What in the world is going on ?????!!!!
We have been feeding Snoopy Ultra Premium From Natural Balance through this ordeal and he has not had any problems at all. This was listed several months ago as getting high scores on the best nutrition in dog food post a while back...that is why we switched over.

I hope all this mess is over soon

Good grief!! Shiloh's Beneful is made with corn gluten, so I thought we were safe!! Do you suppose that corn gluten also has the same chemical as wheat gluten?
