Follow the instructions on the how to forum. They prefer you to use the forum's photo upload.
Go into How and then look up How to use File Manager to upload photos. The photos have to be reduced in size beforehand

Thanks, I did put some in the album but I would still like to figure out how to add them to posts like I see on here.

they dont allow anyone to post hosted images on this forum. for whatever reason they are afraid of someone posting objectionable material. at least that's the way someone explained it to me, anyhow. you could post links though, and allow people to look at them if they wish.
although i myself don't see a whole lot of difference in posting links and posting pics, they seem to feel otherwise here.

The difference is that if you upload a picture over 650 pixels wide it screws up the formatting of the webpage and us moderators jump on such things. If you use an outside host, there ain't much we can do except pull the post but if you upload our site, we can resize the pic especially if we feel it was an unintentional oversight on the your part!

Not quite sure who would have given you the reason you stated but here is a quote from JAISP Tech in our How To section as to why we moved from allowing members to post hosted images to using just the file manager on our servers:

Quote:The reason being this is the constant practice of script kiddies finding ways to implant many different viruses in these sites causing many unsuspecting users to get infected and have sever difficulty getting rid of the virus. We are not implying that you your self as members of this community have ever taken such an action but recently the problem has become very severe across many image hosting places and across image libraries from many users infecting thousands of users viewing content from these sites.
You are correct that we don't allow objectionable material but that isn't the reason we moved to the use of the file manager.

As always Judy, a much better explanation, all I know is I can't do anything with hosted pictures but I can snarf and resize uploaded pictures. Judy, you know how untalented a moderator I is?

Lilley's a beauty. As for using File Manager, I love it!
Personally, I think it's much quicker and simpler than using a photo hosting site. Just my humble opinion.
