Hi everyone. My name is Doug, and I have a Beagle pup named Luigi on his way. Me and my wife (who'll share this account with me and might post on occasion) got him in Texas on vacation. He'll arrive on Monday. I joined up to get some advice on caring for a beagle, and how I should prep my apartment for one, and other things like that. This is my first beagle (and he's a pup at that, about 3 months old) so any advice is welcome. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/help.gif Wow, a beagle puppy.... you are in for the most exhausting and enjoyable time of your life!!! Beagle puppies are the best, they are cute, cuddly, and there isn't a dull moment when they're around.

I love the name you've chosen. I'll let the other folks here give the advice on how to prepare for a pup (crate, toys, etc...) but will give you the most important advice I feel you should know: PATIENCE!!!

Ask everything you want to know, don't by shy, and remember: there are no stupid questions.

Waiting for pictures.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/pic.gif

Welcome to BW! You are in for an experience! I'm Glenda, and am currently owned by the "tenpack" - with a litter due next month! This is a great group for information - I wish I'd had something like this when I adopted my first beagle almost 8 years ago!
There's nothing like a beagle puppy!
Hugs 'n puppy kisses,

Hi, Luigi's Parents!!

I have an 8 month-old beagle puppy named Kioko, and we've had her for almost 5 weeks, now.

Being an older puppy, she has some unique challenges, but mostly I'm just in the same boat with all new puppy owners. We've been figuring things out as we go.

Beagle World is a great place to find help and encouragement and nice people who love beagles. Any question you have...someone here knows the answer, I'm sure of it.

Welcome!

Hi, good luck with the new puppy. I will tell you i found it the most exhausting time of my life when we brought meg home, but it does get better and it is soooo worth it. Beagles are the best !! And remember no matter what he does, you will take one look into those eyes, and simply melt.

Welcome Doug! You must be so excited about getting Luigi...I can't wait to see pics! I have a new beagle pup that will be 3 months old on Monday, her name is Maggie. She's somewhat of a challenge, but she's very quickly become the love of our lives!

Feel free to jump right in with questions...this site offers a wealth of information!

Hi Doug. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/help.gif

I have a beagle pup that will be 12 weeks old on Saturday. Her name is Peanut...and she is spoiled rotten. She goes through phases of being quite challenging (which I expected since I researched the breed before I got her). But all she has to do is turn those eyes up at me and I melt.

We look forward to pictures.

A warm welcome from us /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/help.gif

I've had Boeing since he was a tiny 7-week-old pup and he's nearly 5 1/2 years old now. Yes, raising a beagle pup can be very exhausting and difficult at times, but through love, patience and understanding, you'll have a very unique companion in the end. For me, I'd never trade the experience for anything in the world /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif
