Hi all long time no post...

Well, I can't quite believe it myself but on Friday I am picking up another Beagle called Basil to join the Wayfarer clan. I do hope our 4 welcome him. He is 7 years old and sadly his owners no longer want him. I have come into contact with Basil on a couple of occassions because he spends the majority of his time in his current mum's jewellery shop every day, which is just across the way from where I work.

Basil is a lovely little chap and I do hope he settles in over the weekend with us. He is used to human contact all day long at the moment and because we work he will be replacing the human contact with doggy contact whilst we are away. We have agreed with the current owners that this weekend will be a trial to check that the arrangements suit Basil first and foremost and of course our Barney, Jasper, Buster and Skye.

Will keep you posted and if we can suss out the photograph resizing we will put some piccies on.

I am excited...aaaarrrrrrroooooooooooooooooo

The reason given is that the couples careers are taking different paths and it has meant that Basil's mum has been left with two dogs, one of which has been rehomed. I hope the decision to let him go hasn't been taken too easily, they have told me about his little ways and his food preference (if beagles have a preference :eyes: )
I do hope that he settles in with us over the wweekend but if not we will have to consider his needs over our excitement and let him go back or if she prefers we can look to rehome him with some help from Beagle Welfare over here, at least if the latter is the case we will know that Basil will get rehomed with people that understand beagles special ways /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif .

We will of course let you know ow we get on and thanks for your thoughts.

Last we heard, your mum had adopted a new bassett. How's it going with him?
Dillon has settled in really well. He is very different to our dearest Harvey pops and we still miss him very much. Dillon sticks to my mums side like glue and is now very adept at using his good looks to scrounge food from my dad /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif . He hasn't discovered how to wag his tail yet, we are not sure if he is physically able to (he has funny hips) but he shows his pleasure mostly by sticking his head up your skirt and shaking his head....bizarre :eyes: . We love him for who he is and he loves my mum like no other. I will post some pictures at the weekend.
