Hi, all! I had to put that in the title or I would be inundated with replies ... but here is my new beagle -- the latest and greatest from Danbury Mint -- my co-workers (who are very generous!) gave me a gift card for my birthday and he (she?) arrived today. If you can't tell, that is a bouquet of flowers in the beagle's mouth -- have the feeling the designer didn't have a clue that those flowers wouldn't last long with most real beagles!

I just measured it -- it is 11 1/2 inches at the withers and 18 inches from tail to nose. It seems about the size of a beagle puppy -- I am still startled when I walk by the kitchen!

Danbury Mint describes it as cold-cast porcelain. Considering its size, it is surprisingly light. I walked into the kitchen this morning and did a double-take!

It is going to take some getting use to ...

I knew Maggie was small at the end of her life but just realized how very tiny she was -- her collar fits perfectly on the beagle statue! It is kind of nice to see her tags, including a red heart with her name on it, hanging where I can see them.
