Hi, all! I'm not sure when I started putting ice cubes in Maggie's water bowl but, now, if I don't put them in, she looks up at me like "where are my ice cubes?"! Well, last night I put the usual ice cubes in her bowl and went into the computer room. Shortly thereafter, I went back into the kitchen to get myself some water. There was water all over the kitchen floor and Maggie was in the process of dunking for an ice cube in her bowl!! There was only one left floating in the water ... This time she looked up at me with a "hey, Mom, didn't I do good?" look!

When the Bagel and I are traveling he expects all his water to be in the solid form. I just throw a couple ice cubes in his bowl and he is contented. If I don't have his bowl handy I am expected to hold the ice cube while Bagel licks it but I tire of that game all to soon from the Bagel's point of view.

How funny !!! Sammy prefers to eat her ice cubes as do her siblings. Whenever they hear the ice dispenser on the frig they all come running !! It is quite a sight.

Good game Maggie! Popcorn won't take the ice cubes out of the water bowl (we put them in there too - again, we started at some point and now they expect them...), but if she hears us getting ice out of the fridge she will come running to get a piece for herself. Only problem is she just takes it to the bed or sofa or carpet, plays with it for a bit, and then loses interest and leaves it there to melt!

I, too, put ice cubes in Daisy's water bowl, but mostly in the summer. She likes to chew on them on hot days, but doesn't dunk. She'd rather have them straight from the fridge or right from my mouth /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif She knows just how to very gently let them slip from my mouth to hers.

I think it's so cute and it feels like a bonding thing to me. :heart: (Maybe not for her though -- she likes the taste of what I'm drinking LOL.)

See how easy it is to come up with "olympic sports" -- instead of passing a baton, we could use ice cubes! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Maggie had her pre-treatment ACTH stim test today (since last one was over a year agao) and spent most of the day at her vet's office. She had a great day --like day and night from her last hospital experience. She entertained the staff (and the visiting drug salesman) all day! Jersey too loves her ice cubes. She'll take them straight out of the freezer or in her water, whichever. If I put them in her water she'll do like Maggie and "bob for the ice cube". Her whole nose gets wet and a good part of her ears, but she's happy, so I'm happy!

Ah that is sweet. Our last beagle, Spotty, loved icecream and in summer ice cubes. Havent tried it on Susi and Snoopy yet.

I'm having a giggle picturing all the BW beagles and their ice cube fetishes.

Same at our house. Cubes are mostly a summer treat.....but I also freeze plain yogurt in ice cube trays for a hot weather treat, then store them in freezer bags.

Vince is not a lover of eating the ice cube. He is however a big lover playing with the cube. He will push it around the floor either with his nose or feet. Its almost like he is "playing hockey".

I guess his name and all the "Beagle Hockey" in the backyard have permiated all the way through him. Hu-rahhhh. Go Bolts!!!!!!!!!!!!
