My DH and I are deaf. He wears behind the ear hearing aid and I have cochlear implant.

My Bailey 14 months old sleep in the bed with us with the bedroom door close and when he needs to go outside in the middle of the night, he come to my face and breathe on me from his nose and it wakes me up and he sit there looking at me I say, you need to go outside and he'll wait til I get up and get the leash and take him outside and we came back in and he'll run back to get in the bed and get under the cover. Bailey has been doing that for long time ever since we got him and he has never done anything on the floor in the bedroom or anywhere in the house. During the day he'll go to the door and bark to go outside.

Bailey, you are a brilliant guy!!
Ain't it amazing how our beagles try to avoid those circumstances that could be frustrating for us? They are really clever and sweet! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I'm really impressed at how dogs adapt to our lifestyles.

Do either of you sign and have you taught him any?
God equips animals to be masters at reading body language; I'm sure you also have a special gift at reading body language, due to your hearing loss.

I'm sure the love language you share is deep and special. Your story touches my heart.

No, we have never done any sign language because we can speak and talk.
Bailey is very smart! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

What a sweetheart! Beagles amaze me with their quickness and intelligence, and your Bailey is clearly on a great wavelength with you both. What a lovely story!
What a lovely story, your Bailey is very clever. Great to know he is clean in the house. Would love to hear more about him.
