Re: Menolly's Birthday- ideas?
I really like the memento book idea.
My only problem is half the pictures I have of Menolly are on the computer- and we don't have a color cartrige.

What I might be able to do instead is tape/glue a bunch of Menolly's pictures to a large peice of posterboard, then have the guests write birthday messages to her; sort of like an autograph board.
As you can imagine I'm on a very limited budjet, so most of the decorations and stuff are going to be made out of things I already have. I've already made bone and pawprint stencils and plan on making a birthday banner, a fire hyrdrant sign for the bathroom door, and putting up different peices of doggie trivia around the kitchen, backyard, and living room.
You guys have helped get the creative juices flowing, so I've got an idea of what I want to do-
I will set out a table full of treats for both humans and dog, long with a veggie platter that has dog-safe vegetables like carrots. Even the birthday cake can accomodate humans!

(that's one of the things I'll use the pawrint motif on)For game I'm going to see who's the best dog trainer, has the most doggy knowlege, etc. I have no idea what to use for prizes as most everyone coming will be an adult. I will print out a bunch of doggy coloring pages and set out crayons and colored pencils for any kids that come, though. I also like the photo idea, but as I said, most of her pictures are on the computer and I don't have many others to spare. Hey...Dad has a Polaroid camera...if I can find some film for that, maybe I could take pictures of each person with Menolly and send the pictures home with them!
I don't know about the howling idea, LOL. Menolly never howls unless she's trying to scare someone off or sound the alarm about an intruder. Besides, I think my family would leave. They don't like her howling.
I'm not really sure who to invite yet, except one of my- and Menolly's- closest friends. I may just ask anyone who likes dogs if they're free that weekend.
