Hi, folks! Maggie has certainly come a long way. When I first adopted her almost 12 years ago, she did not like children and I had to keep her away from them for a long time. She has also never been an affectionate dog, i.e., not prone to giving kisses. Jump to this afternoon ... I took her outside when I came home from work. She alerted when the neighbor's car, with the daughter and grandson inside, drove in. Maggie started pulling me toward the young boy with whom she has developed a friendship. I noticed that the boy was crying -- he must have had a bad day at school. I asked his Mom if Maggie could say "hello" and she said "yes". The boy came up to Maggie, knelt and gave Maggie a big hug and stroked her head for a few minutes. When he stopped, Maggie gave him a big lick /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yay.gif and he walked away with his head down. Hopefully, for those few moments, his day improved!

Awww so sweet of Maggie to give this lil boy some love when she doesn't normally like kids.

Rosa doesn't normally like kids either but for a long time now I have been walking her past a school just as they are all coming out at lunchtime and she is much better.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/soapbox.gif Awwww! How sweet Judy! How funny is it when a dog can sence that there is something wrong before a human can! It seams like Maggie just needed to give him some love!! There's nothing like a good old beagle kiss /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yay.gif to brighten your day!!
