...a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza, minus 2 slices. My son and I were upstairs, and the pizza was on the kitchen counter. She must have jumped up and knocked the box down, because when my son went downstairs to get another slice, Maggie was furiously licking up the last of the crumbs and sauce off the floor.

Other than the obvious diarrhea she'll probably get, is there any other cause for concern?

Just monitor her for things like excessive drooling, heavy panting etc - make sure she has lots of fresh water available.

Daisy got into the cat food container the other night and ate more than 1kg (more than two pounds) of cat biscuits. I could have killed her and was quite worried but she was fine - she has a gut of steel! The gas was awful though :p I fasted her the next day to make sure it was all out of her system. She would have kept eating if I hadn't caught her!!

Oh boy! That must have been some sight, I am sure she will be ok, probably just an upset tummy for a day or so, as long as you keep an eye on her

Roscoe got a ton of food (unintentionally) on Thanksgiving when the house was full and food was everywhere, he was quite the gluttonous little beagle but was fine!

I really wouldn't worry unless she starts looking for beer to wash it down.

PS Winston would have ate the box too.

I think Maggie has great taste! I would suggest that you treat her like she does have diarrhea (hopefully, she doesn't ...) -- no food for 24 hours, then plain, white rice and some plain cooked chicken for another 24 hours. Then back to just dog food -- no treats. Ease back into the treats after a couple of days. I agree that there isn't anything in the pizza that would really cause a lot of concern.

I think only if there were a ton of onions on it could there be a problem but it doesn't sound like there were any. Regardless, my sympathies. My two just LOVE their dog beds. I've bought them at least ten in the last year....that's in addition to the seven leashes I STUPIDLY left within their reach...

Hope all is well....

OMG! She must be related to Cobi...he is constantly getting into food he shouldn't. Last night he ate 1/2 a raw beef steak, in five seconds, (no kidding). You are right about the obvious trots, and she will need that water, helps move the pizza through her system. Little demons how can we love them so much. So what did you have for dinner?

hey, if my friend's dachshund can eat a whole block of cheese and be fine, then a beagle can eat a pizza. This dachshund has also eaten a whole box of wings... maybe one full one left, but he ate everything whole (ie: all the bones) and somehow was fine as well... not even the runs lol.

Daisy ate half a stick of margarine one time before I could stop her. LOL

I wouldn't worry too much as long as she's acting normal, peeing, pooing, drinking. I would say though that if anything seems abnormal it never hurts to call the vet.

Definitely expect awful gas though! LOL Daisy is lying next to me pooting up a storm as I type this.

Just wondering how Maggie is doing - hopefully she is okay and I wouldn't be too surprised if she didn't even get sick... probably just thirsty (I know I always am thirsty after pizza). Moosie ate an entire stick of butter once with no ill effects. Another time Booker, Moose and Popcorn ate ALL of their Christmas treats in one closet raid while we were out, again with no ill effects!

Oh no! They are so fast! Dave once brought home polish sausage sandwiches and had an extra one for himself the next day. By the time he came to the back of the house to let me know he was home with dinner and we came back in the kitchen, all that was left was the wrapper and I think Duke would have eaten it too, had we not caught him in the act.

Hope Maggie didn't suffer too many ill effects from her pizza binge. But you have to admit, she has good taste in food! LOL

I knew she would be really thirsty and drink a lot of water! Glad she is okay - and I'm sure would do it again in a heartbeat!
