Loose hound skin...

Does beagle skin get looser as they get older?
Sadie is 3, and hers seems to be. (And it isn’t because of any recent weight loss beneath it.
)
She’s always had this funny little fold at the base of her tail when she stands up on her hind legs.
Lately, it just seems to be getting looser all over.

Mine still haven't seemed to grow into their skin either, but I don't think it has progressively loosened. I love to grab a hold of it around their necks though while I am petting them.

Molly has loose skin at the base of her tail. I asked the vet about it. She said it is nothing to be worried about but if we wanted we could get it fixed. The vet referred to it kind of like plastic surgery on a dog.

I told my husband that if the dog gets plastic surgery before me, there would be big trouble in the house.

Re: Loose hound skin...

Cole is 6months old and has what I call a turkey waddle under his neck. I am assuming it is all of the skin he has to grow into but it seems like a lot! Roscoe never had this, he was always lean and taut. So we shall see if Cole winds up keeping his waddle, I think its kinda cute.
