I don't usually log off when I leave the site, I just shut my browser down. I'm just wondering if this slows the site down, and does it show that I'm always online, or does my name disappear from the "Who's Online" box after being idle for a certain amount of time.

I don't want to be slowing the site down, but it sure is convenient not to log on and off each time.

I think that when you are not browsing in this specific site, you are considered to be logged off. That would make the most sense to me... but this is a good point.

Logging off is not necessary unless you use a community type computer where you are concerned about another person using your log in.

It has no bearing on how fast the site runs if you just close your browser as no constant connection is maintained. The who's online is an impulse log that only updates upon request meaning that something is clicked.

I never log off I just close my browser.
