Well, okay, I was snowshoe running, he was not using snowshoes :winko:

We are on our 16 day vacation to a cabin just outside of Algonquin Provincial Park about 3.5 hrs north of Toronto, so we ran on one of the backpacking trails in the park yesterday.

Hiked today - my mom is up for a few days so she came with.

Agis the puppy (not a beagle) is learning to skijor (pull a skier - I also do ski while he does so). I'd love to do it with Xerxes but some of us follow our noses a bit too much...

Anyways, a terrible video from my awful YouTube channel! Agis's first time skijoring! We went out on the lake, it'd rained then snowed the day before so the deep existing snow was wet and had new snow on top - it was pretty brutal going:

And a better video/some pics of his skijoring session the next day: http://instagr.am/p/B71VfhZnwOi/

Thanks guys! Poor Xerxes was not happy this morning, it is -15C (so more seasonal - it's been oddly warm) and even Nebbers (who is almost 12, just a few months away) finds the cold hard on his feet now. I think older dogs do feel it more - he doesn't need a coat, but his poor feet!

Thanks Autumn's Mom! They are having fun I think and hope. It's warming up again - was going down to -25C at night so poor Xerxes - and Neb at almost 12 finds to cold tough on the paws.

Heh techie! Toronto just had it's second hottest January ever on record, and it's been warmer than normal up here too, but still winter at least.

What's the normal for you guys Cassie? It's warm again here, I think it was a high of -3.5C today. Sigh

January is usually really cold..which it was. Then we get mild temps and some rain through May. June is called "June gloom"... then Hot and no rain for the next 6 months.

Expecting high winds which is a concern for fire danger. Where I live we get "onshore" winds from the Pacific ocean then "offshore" winds coming down from our local mountains. Its an odd phenomenon...so we have fire danger with both those directional winds. Rain is predicted this week.

Thanks Column! Yes, we love snow, it's so nice. Toronto's gotten not much of a winter so it's nice to go up north.
