Hello. Misty's food is being discontinued by the manufacturer...they are changing the ingredient list by swapping out the brown rice and replacing it with lentils. Only differnce I can see. But the new bag is only sold in 30 lb bags. That is 6 months of food for Misty. The only thing I can think of to keep it "fresh" is to freeze it. So I am looking for recommendations on how to keep it from spoiling once it is opened.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Ive read on line that kibble can be frozen but be careful if any moisture gets in it and causes freezer burn. Make sure its in a freezer bag.
I dont feed kibble..my dog eats Freshpet which has great dating and is kept in the refrigerator.

You can keep the kibble in a freezer bag before keeping it on the refrigerator. It will make sure the food will not lack moisture. You can also keep them in dog food containers. Make sure it is airtight. There are many plastic and stainless steel containers are available. You can get them.
